The text Down in the North from The Economist and published on December 15th 2001 deals with three recent groups of immigrants in Britain .
Firth, there are the West Indians who came to Britain to work in public services such as the health service and the buses. Second, there are the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis who were imported as low-skilled workers for the textile industry. Third, there are the East African Asians who were once thrown out of Uganda and Kenya and re-created their prosperity in Britain.
In Barriers still exist in larger EU by Gavin Stamp and released in BBC NEWS on May 1st 2005, the author approves a high number of immigrants coming to Britain in search of work.
It seems to me, that Britain is very attractive for immigrants, because many people can find a job there. In fact, unemployment is a problem in Germany. I believe that other countries have the same problem and if there are possibilities to emigrate and find a well-paid job in another country, I would do the same. I simply must agree: The West Indians and East African Asians just wanted to improve their life and to realize this, they need a job. For me, it does not make sense, why the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis came to Britain. I only understand the Britons, because I can imagine that they were looking for cheap workers.
If many immigrants come to Britain, there is no doubt that a lot of them are professionals like teachers, doctors or accountants. After a while, it could be possible, that the British people wont find a job in their own country and they need to immigrate, too. But this is just a guess.
All in all, I think that immigration is a positive aspect concerning the situation of employment and as well as other situations like exchanging cultures.

Das war bestimmt nur ein Schreibfehler, denn Du meinst doch "First" ,oder?

Du meinst doch nur "East Africans" oder?
Vielleicht könntest du versuchen nicht immer mit "there are" anzufangen, sondern einfach schreiben "Secondly people from Bangladesh and Pakistan were imported as....." oder so.
Ich verstehe nicht so ganz, warum Du den Teil vor "It seems to me..." geschrieben hast, denn Du sollst doch einen Comment schreiben und der beginnt doch eigentlich erst ab jetzt. Eine kleine Einleitung ins Thema ist nicht schlecht, aber vielleicht solltest Du dann eher schreiben "I would like to write a comment about Britain and its immigrants, who came....."

Warum sprichst Du jetzt auf einmal Deutschland an?

Stand das mit den "East African Asians" in einem Text oder hast Du Dich wieder verschrieben? Soweit ich weiß, gibt es keine East African Asians, das wäre ja so wie Ostafrikanische Asiaten  .
Du möchtest doch sagen, dass sie ihr Leben verbessern wollten und um dies zu tun, brauchten sie einen besser-bezahlten Job, oder? Dann würde ich eher schreiben:
"The West Indians and the East Africans just wanted to improve their living conditions and have a better life, in order to realize that, they needed to find a better(-paid) job."
Oder so ähnlich...

Ich weiß nicht, warum die Pakistanis und bangladeshis nach GB kamen, aber wenn sie "imported" wurden, dann waren es doch wahrscheinlich Sklaven und diese hatten gar keine Wahl zu kommen oder nicht. Oder wie war das mit denen? Vielleicht hatten sie auch nur auf ein besseres Leben gehofft und die briten haben es ihnen versprochen, aber sie später ausgenutzt.

Guten Morgen,
es gibt sehr wohl zahlreiche Asiaten in den ostafrikanischen Staaten.
In der Mehrzahl Inder, die nach Auskunft eines Verwandten, der zwei Jahre in Tansania und noch einige Zeit in Uganda gearbeitet hat, einen erheblichen Anteil daran haben, dass der "Laden" - gemeint ist die Gesamtwirtschaft - wenigstens einigermaßen läuft.
